Hi, I’m Sarah, a surface pattern and textile designer working under my brand, The Sixth House.
I create richly detailed patterns designed to live across a wide range of surfaces—from wallpapers and interior fabrics to clothing, lifestyle products, and homeware. Whatever the surface, I’ll make a pattern!
Using hand-drawn, painted, and digital techniques, I explore a variety of processes, though my heart lies in watercolour and gouache. These methods bring a softness and depth to my work, allowing motifs to feel expressive and considered.
Each design is carefully crafted with a strong focus on detail and an intuitive approach to colour. I’m particularly drawn to creating palettes that feel unexpected yet balanced, adding mood, character, and a sense of identity to every piece.
